Rosh Hayeshiva
Yeshivat Tiferet Torah is privileged to have Rabbi Nissan Hakakian, shlita, Rosh Hayeshiva, at its helm. The Rosh Hayeshiva is a master mechanech with over two decades of chinuch experience. Rabbi Hakakian also serves as the Rav of the Sephardic Congregation of South Monsey, and as a respected posek.
Rabbi Hakakian received rabbinical semiha and shehita from Rav Massas, zt"l, while learning under the tutelage of Hacham Shalom Cohen, shlit"a, at Yeshivat Porat Yosef. He subsequently learned in the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn and was ordained as a rabbinical leader under Rav Shmuel Birnbaum, zt"l and Rav Kalmonowitz, zt"l.
The Rosh Heyeshiva’s commitment to the wellbeing and development of each and every talmid in the yeshiva is legendary. Rabbi Hakakian personally tests each student monthly and also involves himself with the individual needs of every bachur. The Rosh Hayeshiva treats and cares for each talmid as if the talmid were his own son. The students respond in kind, forming lasting bonds with the Rosh Hayeshiva whose accessibility, compassion, and sensitivity draw talmidim closer and inspire further efforts of greatness.​

Rabbi chaim schabes 

Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Chaim Schabes is Rav of Knesset Yisroel, a magid shiur extraordinaire, and a renowned Monsey posek. Rabbi Schabes’s Torah studies have taken him around the world from Long Beach Yeshiva to Yeshivat Ponovezh where he learned under Rav Shach, zt”l and Rav Shmuel
Rozovsky, zt”l. Rabbi Schabes went on to study in Beth Medrash Gavoha of Lakewood under the leadership of Rav Shneur Kotler, zt"l, before serving as Rosh Kollel in Mexico for eight years.
The depth of understanding of Torah and yirat shamayim is something that is brought home to each student in Tiferet Torah. Rabbi Schabes possesses an extraordinary ability to bring life into his shiurim, forming them into something each talmid can gain and learn from.

Rabbi moshe naidoff

Rosh Kollel
​Rabbi Moshe Nadoff, Rosh Kollel, learned Advanced Talmud Law at Yeshiva Torah Temima in Brooklyn. He went on to study for eight years in Eretz Yisroel before receiving rabbinical ordination at Yeshiva Bais Midrash Gavoha of Lakewood. As the much respected Rosh Kollel of Kollel Tiferet Torah, Rabbi Nadoff leads with authority and efficacy, bringing out the best in each kollel member so they continuously progress in their learning and growth.

Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Moshe David Choueka, Magid Shiur, spent his formative years in Eretz Yisrael, where he basked in the glorious traditions of Torah greatness and Sephardic heritage. Rabbi Choueka studied under Rav Don Ungarischer, ztz”l, in Monsey, and then under Rav Meshulam Dovid Soloveichik, ztz”l, in Yerushlayim. Subsequently, Rabbi Choueka received semiha from Rav Chaim Stein, ztz”l, in Telshe in Cleveland. After studying an additional fourteen years in kollel and running various outreach and youth initiatives, Rabbi Choueka founded Machon Nehor Sifra. This had lead to the publication of dozens of manuscripts and Torah works, including those of Rav Mordechai Gifter, zt’l, Rav Chaim Stein, Rav Eizik Ausband, Rav Yitzchok Kirzner, and others. Rabbi Choueka’s accessibility and readiness to offer individualized instruction is appreciated by
his talmidim who are serious when it comes to striving to become the next generation of Bnei
Torah.

Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Moshe Degani, Magid Shiur, has earned a sterling reputation as a  Torah educator given his warmth, dedication, and enthusiasm. Rabbi Degani studied under the tutelage of Lakewood’s renowned educator, Rabbi Nosson Stein, shlit”a, and subsequently spent five years in Israel
studying in the famous Brisker Yeshiva under the leadership of Rabbi Tzvi Kaplan, shlit”a. Ten years ago, Rabbi Degani returned to America to study in the kollel of Bais Medrash Elyon, guided by Rabbi Yisroel Falk, shlit”a. In addition, Rabbi Degani taught in Yeshiva Ohr Naftoli and Yeshiva Meon Hatorah (Roosevelt).

Rabbi Degani guides Yeshiva Tiferet Torah’s talmidim with an enthusiastic approach that allows every student to thrive. Rabbi Degani’s methodologies include a remarkable depth and clarity in
each lesson enabling each of his talmidim to live and love Torah.

Rabbi aaron dovid leshkowitz

Shoel Umashiv
Rabbi Aaron Dovid Leshkowitz, Shoel Umashiv, received an impressive chinuch and guidance from Torah giants such as Rav Yosef Savitsky, shlita, and Rav Yisroel Belsky, zt”l. After two years of learning under Rabbi Asher Arieli in the Mirrer Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, Rabbi Leshkowitz returned to Brooklyn to continue learning from the Talmudic wisdom of Rabbi Savitsky. He joined the staff of Mesivta Torah Vodaath to assist talmidim in understanding the profound insights of the shiurim. In his present position at Bet Midrash Tiferet Torah, Rabbi Leshkowitz helps the talmidim gain clarity of the sugyot so they can experience the true enjoyment of in-depth Torah learning.

rabbi akiva zentman

Shoel Umashiv
Rabbi Akiva Zentman, Shoel Umashiv Night Seder, studied for two years at Yeshiva Zichron Moshe in South Fallsburg, NY. He then continued on to study an additional five years at Yeshiva Ner Moshe in Yerushalayim, where he mastered Seder Kodshim and other
sections of Yoreh Deah and became the official Kotev of the Kodshim Shiur. Rabbi Zentman reviews the shiurim with the bet midrash bachurim. His focus is on teaching the boys to use their own minds to take apart each sugya, see where the questions lie and arrive at the proper conclusions. He is eager to give each bachur a true sense of accomplishment and enjoyment in learning by guiding and encouraging them to deliver their own chaburas.
